2022 Pesticide Safety and Pest Management Trainings 

Wednesday, August 10 – CORE Pesticide Safety and Best Practices; full-day, 8:30 - 4:00 pm

Wednesday, August 17 –  Ways to Manage Pests – Integrated Pest Management; half-day, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

CORE is an all-day training and is particularly suited for pest control operators and farmers. Topics include, but are not limited to: 

  • Pesticide laws, sections, and violations
  • Reading & understanding product labels
  • Risks, hazards, and first aid associated with pesticides
  • Calibrating equipment, computing size of the area to be treated, and amount of product needed
  • Effects of pesticides on people, the environment, non-target organisms
  • Ways pesticides can enter the body

Format: Video Conference 

Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix: NWW 103 (West of the Great Hall, across from the outdoor restrooms) 

Orville E. Kean Campus, St. Thomas: TED-213 (located on the 2nd Floor of the Teacher's Education Building), upper STT Campus, near the library.  The TED building is located after the Science & Math building.
