STX Campus

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) established the Center for the Study of Spirituality and Professionalism (CSAP) as part of the University’s commitment to engendering an atmosphere in which people from various walks of life can practice tolerance and engage in the sharing of worldviews on spirituality and professionalism.

CSAP promotes the integration of spirituality and professionalism for a greater understanding and adoption of principles of compassion, caring, transformation, service, responsible judgment, honesty and intelligences; to maintain social justice, accountability, integrity, ethics and respect for life and property; to create and sustain a harmonious environment for students, faculty and the University in concert with the wider Virgin Islands community and the Caribbean; and to be proactively sensitized to the importance of spirituality and professionalism in a wider context.

The University desires all personnel, Virgin Islands community members and beyond to strengthen and affirm awareness of the value inherent in the integration of spirituality and learning as part of institutional culture and society; embrace and understand the important role of ethics and integrity as it relates to personal development, professional best practices, good governance and principled leadership; and accept CSAP’s invitation to explore, implement and learn more about the opportunities for right thinking and right action offered to enhance one’s life experience with positive linkages of spirituality and professionalism for sacred well being and more!
